They are
interested in human memory and its many manifestations and interactions
with other cognitive systems.? A sample of current research programs
includes:

Episodic
future thought and its relation to remembering.? We as humans are
facile at recollecting the past and envisioning plausible, specific
future scenarios.? Recent work in our lab and elsewhere has shown the
neural substrates of the two capacities to be highly similar.? A full
understanding of memory retrieval will need to incorporate the relation
between these two fundamental capacities.

Taking
a test on newly-learned information helps solidify later memory for
that information.? Why?? Ongoing behavioral and neuroimaging projects
are informing this important question.?
